This course helps students become future educators. Students will discover the interworking of the school system and what steps they will need to take to become an educator. They will learn the history of education and how it became what use today. Students will also have the opportunity to educate younger individuals during their internship. The internship may need to be completed virtually this year. Students will accumulate this information and skills by:
- Learning style assessment and reflection.
- Observe and reflect on learners in the school environment.
- Research how special needs may impact an educational experience.
- Plan and use activities that encourage and respect diversity in education
- Compare and contrast code of conducts.
- Reflect on the characteristics of a leadership in the education system.
- Research and debate a school funding issues.
- Create school safety flyers.
- Determine your own philosophy of education.
- Create lesson plans and assessments.
- Self-reflect on lessons and assessments.
- Present lessons to class.
- Create your own portfolio.
- Compare and contrast careers in education with a career in other fields.
