This course help inform students about what health is. How they can choose what they allow to impact their health as well as know how to promote a positive lifestyle for their lives. In this course students will have the opportunity to:
  • ​​ Discover what normal health standards are.
  • Learn what healthy relationship should look like and how to create then maintain them.
  • Demonstrate how personalities can effect relationships with other individuals.
  • Become certified in CPR and First Aid
  • Have access to birth control methods.
  • Understand and recognize what consent is and looks like.
  • Explore how stress effects the body and mind as well as its impact on our overall health.
  • Evaluate all types of mental health disorders and ways the ways they can be supported.
  • Analyze labels on foods and drinks.
  • Understand the number of calories to eat, the correct amounts of fats, sugars, carbohydrates, protein, cholesterol, sodium, fiber, and vitamins.
  • Aware of any and all negative effect drugs and alcohol have on physical, social, and emotional health.

Signing up for Dual Credit
Pacific NW College Dual Credit (aka- Tech Prep) College Connections Program:
This course is Pacific NW College Credit 
https://www.pnwcollegecredit.org/  approved and articulated. Students who demonstrate proficiency of the college course competencies with a B or better grade may be eligible to earn college credit through the Pacific NW College Credit (Tech Prep) program. During this semester course all of the college competencies will be covered in or out of class. Students will need to pass the CPR/AED certification skills test during class, in the First Aid/CPR Unit. Students must register online using the state wide enrollment and reporting system https://www.ctesers.org  (Use Chrome or Firefox) and also are required to pay a non-refundable $46 annual consortium fee to earn college credit through the Tech Prep College Connections program https://forms.bellevuecollege.edu/pci/other/pnwcc/
To pay for 

Students must register for Pacific NW College Credit (Tech Prep) credit while they are enrolled in the high school program.
